Gifted and Talented Day at Nottingham Trent University.
On Thursday 22nd October 2015, 30 children from our family of schools were chosen to attend a maths and science day at Nottingham Trent University’s Clifton campus.
The day was organised and all of the activities that the children participated in were designed by the new PGCE students.
All of the activities were really engaging and fun and they inspired the children to ask questions to extend their knowledge and understanding.
We also had the opportunity to look around the ever expanding university campus when the students gave us a guided tour. We were all very impressed with the facilities and services that the university had to offer the students.
Here are some comments from the children that were fortunate enough to take part in the visit.
“I liked all of the activities. They were fun and they helped me learn new things.”
“I enjoyed looking around the university buildings and seeing how it was different from our school. I enjoyed the leaf finding and bug searching activities the most.”
“It was amazing! There was so much to do and the uni was huge! Thank you for asking us to go and take part.”
“it was really fun and exciting and there was so much to do. I’m really glad I got chosen to go.”
“It was really cool and it changed my mind about university! Thank you for choosing me.”
“I’m speechless about it! It was amazing! I enjoyed the minibeast activity, especially using the cool equipment and sucking a spider into a viewing pot! Thank you for choosing me, I had a great day and I hope to go there again someday.”
We all thought that the visit was a wonderful experience which we all thoroughly enjoyed and felt really grateful that we had the opportunity to take part in the day.
Thank you to the staff and students at Nottingham Trent University.
