Year 1

Hello! Welcome to Year 1!

HOMEWORK UPDATE: We now have an email address for the children to email their electronic homework to their class teachers. Please make sure the email contains the child’s name and the name of their class teacher.

Don't forget to keep checking the Class Newsletters page for any updates.
A big WELL DONE! to Mrs Miller's class for their fantastic class assembly.
What a lovely day at Ferry Farm! A big thank you to the parents that helped with our trip. Enjoy some of the photos of our day on the farm.
Take a look at some pictures from the spring term.  Mr Hammond helped us in History as we found out about toys from the past.  We made moving vehicles in DT, painted flowers in Art and dressed up for World Book Day.
The children have made an excellent start to year one.  They’ve worked hard and enjoyed themed days including; ‘Judaism’, ‘No Pens Day’ and ‘Roald Dahl Day’.  'Penalty Shootout' and 'Penny Mile' helped to raise money for our school.  In science, we've been busy finding out about seasonal changes  and observed  how sunflowers grow and change.  After studying the artist Leonardo da Vinci we painted portraits and created our own Portrait Gallery in the classroom.
A big WELL DONE to Ryder and Grace  who were voted as our Year One Eco Representatives and to Edward and Freddie our School Council Members.
Mrs Miller's class has had the best attendance in school on two occasions and proudly received the attendance cup in our ‘Well Done Assembly’.
Enjoy taking a look at some of our photographs from the first half term.
