Week 2

Day 2 - Light Refraction

Fill a glass with water, draw an arrow on the paper and place the paper behind the water, you should see the arrow point the opposite way!

How many words can you think of that still make sense when you put them behind the glass?

Week 2

Day 1 - Sink and float

All you need to do is find a small toy figure that sinks and find a way to make it float. Build a boat, arm bands, a raft or something else!

Did you know some shapes are stronger than others? Test the strength of paper folded into different shaped columns by piling books on top. Stand each column up and carefully place books on top of each one. To keep the test fair use the same books in the same order until the column collapses. Record how many books each column holds.

SQUARE COLUMN

Fold one piece of paper in half and then fold each end in half again towards the centre fold, so the paper is split into four even segments. Fold the paper into a square and secure with tape.

CIRCULAR COLUMN

Fold the second piece of paper into thirds to create a triangular column

CIRCULAR COLUMN

Tape the edges together to form a cicrular column.

Week 1

Day 3 - Save the dinosaur

This is a little bit more involved, but you can just draw a picture  and you can also do it without a water sprayer.
