All Together - Anti Bullying

GREAT NEWS! â€‹We are very pleased and proud to announce that Berry Hill Primary School has been named as a GOLD standard All Together school for the second time by the Anti-Bullying Alliance. This means that the work that we do in school with the children and the measures that we put in place to work against bullying and to improve our children's well-being have been recognised as excellent. We are proud to be a school that is United Against Bullying ðŸ™‚

Working Together To Keep Everybody Happy

At Berry Hill Primary School we take great pride in ensuring children feel safe and happy. To enable this to happen we have lots of policies and procedures in place. One of the ways we keep children safe is through teaching children about bullying and the effects it can have.

The Anti-Bullying Alliance defines bullying as…

The repetitive, intentional hurting of one person or group by another person or group, where the relationship involves an imbalance of power. Bullying can be physical, verbal or psychological. It can happen face-to-face or online.

As a school, we always encourage children to tell an adult if they have any concerns about bullying. If they do not feel they can tell someone they can write a worry down and use our worry boxes. Every classroom has their own worry box. Additionally, we also have a specific bullying worry box located on the Anti-Bullying display outside year 6 classrooms. Alternatively you could use the form below to report any concerns to school. Please ensure you put your child’s full name, class and details about any concerns.

Anti-Bullying Ambassadors Arrive in School!!!

In March 2021, Berry Hill Primary School was very fortunate to be accepted to take part in a special programme run by The Diana Award which would enable us to train a team of Anti-Bullying Ambassadors to work with children all through school to make it a happier, safer and more respectful place for everyone.

A group of 20 KS2 children, alongside Mrs Smith, took part in the online training day where they learned about different types of bullying and how to be an upstander against bullying behaviour. They also looked at special events and initiatives that they could run in school to spread the message of being kind and to start to create a more friendly, caring and respectful environment for everyone in our school.

The ambassadors have already had lots of meetings and have shared lots of great ideas that they think will improve everyone's well-being and happiness in school and they can't wait to share this with everyone when we start back to school in September - they will be holding assemblies, popping to see you in class, be on duty at playtimes if you need some help or just need a kind friend to play with.

Please take a look at some poems that were written by 2 of our amazing ambassadors to show how they feel about bullying and about their new roles as ambassadors!
